Homework
It is your job to record your homework in your agenda.
You will recieve a spelling page on Monday. I advise you to study it, for if you pass the pre-test, you are excused from the post-test. Here are some different ways to help you study your spelling words.
1. Write you words five times each.
2. Write your words four times in blocks (outline your words).
3. Make a crossword with your words. SOLVE YOUR PUZZLE. You can do this by hand too.
4. Make a word search using your words. SOLVE YOUR PUZZLE. You can do this by hand as well.
5. "Cut and Paste" (Cut out letters from the newspaper and paste them to make your words one time each).
6. Write your words three times each, BUT use markers or crayons. Make the vowels red and the consonants blue.
7. "Rainbow Words" (Write your words with one color crayon or marker. Choose two other colors and write over it.)
8. Use the word in a sentence. (Please use more compound, or compound-complex sentences over simple sentences.)
9. Write a short story using your spelling words.
10. "Mnemonic Sentence" Use the letters in the word in a sentence that will help you remember how to spell it.
Example: throw- Ted has rented one wheelbarrow.
Any additional homework will be assignments not completed in class.
All assignments are posted on the calendar
Reading Logs Your main homework is to read every day. Please summarize what you read on this Reading Log Reading is the main thing you can do to improve your life.

You will receive your grade weekly at the bottom of your spelling test. Please take this grade seriously. Once it drops, it is very hard to pull your grade back up. However, don't give up.
Late work will be accepted for one week after the assignment was due and for half credit.
Extra Credit comes in the form of stamps for participation. Additional Extra Credit is rarely offered.
You should be reading a minimum of 30 minutes a night.
